Dizzywood Update

There has been a major update on Dizzywood today.

Haven’t heard of Dizzywood before?

It’s a fun online game I play. Some of you older readers might remember my review on it.

If you don’t have an account, please use my friend code when you’re signing up. It’s “Worm984”.

Anyway, Presto’s Grove is now a “welcoming room” for new players, while Presto’s Edge has become the main room, where explorer’s go to hang out. Here are some pictures I took. Click them to make them bigger.

New Presto’s Grove:

Most of the cool things have been moved to Presto’s Edge, such as the Cannon and the Notice Board. There’s not a lot to do at Presto’s Grove now.

New Presto’s Edge:

Presto’s Edge is now one of the coolest rooms in Dizzywood. There’s so much to do there.

There are also two new rooms. One is called The Chasm.

It’s a pretty pointless room. Nothing to do there apart from climb back up.

The other one is called Mage Barrow.

Here you can summon The Wizard. You just need to know the magic words…

By the way, If you do use my friend code make sure to comment. You’ll see why you need to later. 😉

Also, make sure you read Guinea’s second game review and the Moshi Monster post below this if you haven’t already.

That’s all for now!

Guinea-Game-Review #2: Kirby: Squeak Squad

Guest Post By Guinea

Hi again!
Its meeeeeeee! Anyways, if you couldn’t figure out from the title, this is my 2nd game review! This time, however, I’m reviewing a DS Game. Like I’ve said before, just request a game and I’ll review it 😉

So, here’s the game info:
System: Nintendo DS
Developer: HAL Laboratory/Nintendo
Rating: E (Mild Cartoon Violence)

Kirby is a total suck-up. He sucks, though. But unlike Master Chief, it helps that he sucks. In fact, its part of the story line, and the main point of the game. I was hoping to get this review out before Kirby: SSU came out, but no such luck. Kirby: Squeak Squad sticks with the classic Kirby strategy: Suck up your enemies to copy their abilities, use those abilities to defeat other enemies. But, is Kirby Squeak Squad as good as other Kirby titles like Kirby’s Adventure or the Crystal Shards? TO THE REVIEW!!

Graphics: 9/10
Pretty good. The graphics are definitely its strongest point

Action: 7.5/10
Its always fun to suck up enemies and see what powers Kirby gets, but it is never a challenge, most levels are pretty easy.

Story: 6/10
Instead of nightmares in Dreamland or the fountain of dreams drying up. Kirby is just chasing after a piece of delicious shortcake. The plot doesn’t thicken until Meta Knight swoops in….

Length/Things To Do: 8/10
The game is lengthy enough to entertain, but not much after that, since the mini-games are just OK, and collecting treasure chests/shortcake chests (call it what you want) is fun, but not super entertaining

Touch Screen Usage (Not Included In Overall): 2/5
You can mix & match item trophies on the lower screen, but other than that there is not much…..

Overall: 7.63
Worth A… (Buy, Rent or Toss)
Definitely worth a rent, but its debatable if its worth buying.

Notes:

  • Like Kirby’s Adventure and Kirby: Super Star, Squeak Squad is a scrolling game. However, unlike most others. There is no time limit. Take your time through each level to discover chest and other secrets
  • Every chest you find contains an item. Some even contain Spray Paint cans, which you can use to change Kirby’s colour!
  • You can mix & match power-ups (item trophies) on the touch screen, but don’t get to greedy, or you will only end up with a single star to spit out

Tip:

On Boss Battles mode, walk a little past the door when you are acquiring power-ups, and you can find the Triple Hammer, which can only be found in the final level of the game, making it the rarest power up of them all

Hope Ya Enjoyed The Review!

Moshi Monsters

Ok, this isn’t really a game review, but  I’d like to tell you guys about a cool game called Moshi Monsters.

Please click here to sign up. For every person who signs up using that link I get 30 coins. 🙂

In Moshi Monsters, you get to adopt a monster & care for it. You can buy stuff too, such as furniture for your house, disgusting food to keep your monster’s health up, or clothes for your monster. There aren’t many games to play right now, but you start off with quite a bit of money.

You can also attract Moshlings (pets for your monster) by planting flowers in your garden. If you want some flower combinations just ask. 🙂

You can make friends with other monsters to make your Friends Tree get bigger, and leave messages on their notice boards so you can keep in touch.

There are a lot of other fun things to do that I ahven’t listed. Why not find out for yourself and sign up?

Don’t forget to read the Poptropica post and Dragon Cave Update below this too!

Weather Egg!

I finally managed to grab a Weather Egg!

Adopt one today!

I’ve also learnt more about this mysterious breed. It seems that they take on the characteristics of the season they’re born in. So that means that, even though they look different, all Weather Dragons are the same breed. A bit like alt dragons.

All of them being the same breed can be very useful. Read the following scenario to see why:

It’s November. You really want a Winter Dragon, but you just can’t get a weather egg. Luckily, you have an Autumn Dragon from last month.

So, all you have to do is breed your Autumn Dragon & BAM! You’ve just gotten a Winter Egg!

Gettit? If a Summer Dragon has an egg, and that egg is layed in Winter, it will be a Winter Dragon. 🙂 So, with just one Weather Dragon, you can collect all four.

Anyway, don’t forget to click my other eggs:

Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Make sure you read the post below this as well.

Edit: I got another one!

Adopt one today!

That’s all for now!

New Lego Ad!

There’s a new advertisement on Poptropica! It’s one of the best so far.

There are two Lego mini-adventures to play. They’re pretty fun.

In the ‘Lego Agents’ one, you just have to dodge the lasers & steal Dr. Inferno’s laptop. Then you run away from the guards & jump in the getaway car (you need to collect a box of Lego to build it first, though). At the end you get a Lego Agents Costume.

In the ‘Lego Racers’ one, you have to run around collecting the Lego cars before the race starts. Then you get to build one. At the end you get a Lego Racers costume. Unlike the Race to the Bowl outfit, this one doesn’t make you go super fast. 😦

But, sadly, like all other advertisement buildings they will disappear eventually. But since I now actually have some legos, my name doesn’t make sense. So, until my lego disappears, I will respond to comments under the name ‘Lego’. Not much of a change, but I thought it’d be fun. 😛

Which reminds me, there are two new banners on the Poptropica home page for the two new islands.

Big Nate Island actually looks quite interesting. It’s a shame the actual comic strip is that bad.

In other news: For the first time ever, they actually posted about an advertisement on the Creator’s Blog. But the post will probably get deleted or something after the Lego Building disappears. 😐

Don’t forget to visit the Poptropica Discussion Page, where you can talk about Poptropica with other fans!

That’s all for now!
