Happy Birthday!

Guess what? Mick’s Blog is a year old today! Just imagine: that penguin at the top of the screen has been staring at us for a whole year.

You can click here to see my very first post. That post is actually the ‘Hello Wolrd’ post, I edited it when I joined. But for some reason Mr. WordPress didn’t comment. (If you own a WordPress blog you’ll know what I’m talking about.)

I’m gonna have a party for this, & all the other reasons to have a party that I’ve put off for so long. I haven’t decided a date yet though.

A Few Announcements

Sorry I haven’t been online for a while. My internet is down again. I’m using ISDN, so I don’t have a lot of pictures since I don’t have a lot of time.

Anyhow, two new rooms have been released today.

You are now able to access the Crow’s Nest, which is surprisingly large.

And, after one whole year, the Captain’s Quarters is finally open!

But to get into the Captain’s Quarters you need the key. The key is hidden on the very last page of Rockhopper’s journal. (Which, by the way, he won’t be updating anymore. He’s gonna use the notice board in the Captain’s Quarters instead, which in my opinion is a horrible idea.)

There’s a new game in the Captain’s Quarters. It looks fun, but I haven’t played it yet because everyone was hogging it. 🙄 Sorry that the picture was fuzzy, but low resolution makes CP a lot faster.

Just be happy I haven’t saved the images as ‘.jpg’s, these ‘.png’s are taking forever to upload.

You’re also able to wear the key as a pin. It’s pretty cool.

Also, I’ve heard that the music at the Lighthouse has changed to music from the Camping Party. I’m not going to investigate though, not with an internet connection speed of 64.0 Kbps.

In other news: I’ve bought another memory stick. This one has 2GB. More than enough to get rid of all those Rockhopper pictures I took that are slowing up my cropper program.

Rockhopper Spotted Again

I’ve found Rockhopper again. This time he stayed for a really long time. I’m just after leaving because of boredom. Two hours with a hyper penguin can be a real drag sometimes.

Pirate Party Returns

The Pirate Party has returned. There are barely any new decorations, it looks the exact same as last time. The free item, the Sailor Hat, has returned. It was the free item last time as well… I never liked that item, but for some reason I feel angry at them bringing it back. Even the pin is in the same location! 🙄

The Sailor Hat is at the Plaza.

The pin is a Treasure Chest. It’s at the Ski Village. Wave your mouse over the red X to dig it up.

There’s also a new Sports Catalog. It’s mostly about baseball.

Rockhopper, Newspaper, Other Stuff…

Rockhopper has arrived just in time for the party.

He brought a Black & Red Pirate Shirt for non-members & a rare flower pot for members which you can buy for 300 coins. Strangely, you can’t grow anything in them. I was hoping for a new type of plant from Rockhopper Island.

Is it just me, or does his boat seem smaller?

I’ve seen Yarr on board the Migrator & Rockhopper is roaming the island as we speak. There seems to be a bug with the background too, you can’t get it. Click here to read about the pirate parade Rockhopper had earlier today in Bellyslide.

I also forgot to post about the new note attached to the Captain’s Quarters door. It’s gone now, but I guess I’ll post about it anyway.

Billybob posted a sneak peek of the new room (the Captain’s Quarters) yesterday too.

Now for the new newspaper.

There’s an article about the reward Rockhopper is giving us for fixing his ship. He sent a letter in to the Penguin Times. We’ll be able to enter the Captain’s Quarters on Monday. Rockhopper will be hiding the key somewhere around the island, a bit like a pin.

There’s another article of Rockhopper recalling what had happened while he was gone. I can’t believe the flares were that bright so far away…

And for the first time ever, the PSA have made a public announcement in the newspaper.

There’s gonna be another Book Room writing contest too. I missed the last one by a few weeks. I remember when it came out though. I hope the stories are that good this time too.

This week there are two user-written articles. I guess they’re slightly better than last time, but I think I fell asleep 5 or 6 times.

There is some good artwork this week. I like the space comic.
